Notifications
The CRM keeps a live inbox of things that need your attention during service — new bookings, cancelled reservations, low stock, kitchen orders, payment failures, and more. You open it from the bell in the top bar, manage it on the Notifications page, and turn individual alert types on or off under Preferences.
Where to find notifications
Section titled “Where to find notifications”There are three places that work together:
- The bell in the top bar (next to language and theme) — opens a short dropdown of recent items, with an unread count on the icon.
- Notifications in the left sidebar — the full inbox with filters, categories, and load-more history.
- Preferences on that same page — switches for each alert type your role is allowed to receive.
When a new notification arrives, the bell badge updates without a full page refresh. Clicking an item marks it read and, when a deep link is available, takes you to the relevant screen (for example Bookings, Stock, or Incoming orders).
The inbox
Section titled “The inbox”Open Notifications from the sidebar (or View all from the bell dropdown).
- Filter by category: All, Bookings, Orders, Stock, Team, Payments, System.
- Toggle Unread only when you want a clean list of open items.
- Use Mark all as read to clear the badge in one step.
- Open any row to jump to the related work; severity badges (Critical / High) highlight the most urgent items.
Preferences
Section titled “Preferences”On the Preferences tab, each type your role can receive appears under its category with a short description and an on/off switch.
- Turning a type off stops new notifications of that type for you in the current restaurant. It does not delete history already in the inbox.
- Types you cannot see (wrong permission or plan) are not listed — there is nothing to mute for them.
- Changes save immediately when you flip a switch.
What you can be notified about
Section titled “What you can be notified about”Availability depends on your plan and permissions. Common types include:

- No-shows — a booking was marked no-show.
- Waitlist joins — someone joined the waitlist.
- Arriving soon — a confirmed booking starts within about an hour.
Orders
Section titled “Orders”- New pickup orders — takeaway / delivery waiting to accept.
- Kitchen orders submitted — dine-in or paid orders sent to the kitchen.
- Pickup auth expiring — a prepaid pickup authorization is about to expire if not accepted.

- Stock recovered — levels are back above the low threshold.
- Time-off requests — staff asked for time off.
- Schedule published — a week of shifts was published.
Payments
Section titled “Payments”- Failed payments — a table or order card payment failed.
- Deposit charge failures — booking deposit / no-show charge failed.
- Payments onboarding incomplete — Stripe Connect still needs finishing.
System
Section titled “System”- Guest feedback — a post-visit rating arrived.
- Subscription at risk — platform subscription or trial needs attention.
- Device paired — a new CRM mobile or kitchen display device was connected.
Tips for service
Section titled “Tips for service”- Keep the bell visible during service; critical and high severity items surface first in the dropdown.
- Mute noisy types you do not act on (for example stock, if you are host-only) under Preferences so the badge stays meaningful.
- Use Unread only at the start of a shift to clear the backlog, then leave the filter off if you want history.
